The YMCA is now 5-Star Certified!
The YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region has applied for and passed the 5-Star Certification Program through El Paso County. As of March 3, 2021, all centers, including the Colorado Springs Senior Center, have received their Certification and will be able to operate under the 5-Star Program guidelines.

What is the 5-Star Certification Program?
The 5-Star State Certification is a program set up at the county or municipality level through an administrative committee that encourages businesses to implement safety measures beyond what is already required by public health orders and guidelines that will help slow the spread of COVID. The 5-Star Certification reassures our employees, members and participants that the Y is adhering to enhanced guidance and that we are recognized by the state and county health department for our efforts to keep our communities safe and open.

What does it mean for the YMCA?
Businesses operating in counties in Yellow Level on the COVID Dial 2.0 are now able to operate at the Blue level as of March 3, 2021.

While most of our facilities won’t see large adjustments to class and facility numbers due to the continued requirement of social distancing, we will be able to expand usage on our fitness floor and general usage areas as well as increase the capacities of recreational swim offerings.

We will continue to follow all mitigation strategies required for the 5-Star Certification Program.
