October Active Adults Newsletter

October features a variety of holidays and observances celebrated across different cultures and countries. In the United States, notable dates include Columbus Day on October 13, a federal holiday observed by some as Indigenous Peoples' Day. Halloween, on October 31, marks the end of the month with festive costumes, trick-or-treating, and spooky celebrations. Globally, October includes World Teachers' Day (October 5), United Nations Day (October 24), and Oktoberfest celebrations in Germany and beyond, which may extend into early October. The month also highlights awareness campaigns such as Breast Cancer Awareness Month and National Hispanic Heritage Month.
