Happy New Year! January is a wonderful time to set goals and resolutions for the year ahead. You may want to learn something new, make new friends, focus on nutrition, or revamp your exercise routine. Whatever your goals are, we are here to support you at the Senior Center!

Mayflower Tours: Come Travel With Us!
Monday, January 8th - 9 a.m.
Westside Cottages (1616 W. Bijou)
Come to an informational session to learn of the group travel opportunities we have this year! The Senior Center is partnering with Mayflower Cruises and Tours to offer two exciting trips in 2024. Come learn about these exciting tours and see the world with us.
Mount Rainier and Olympic National Parks: Departure Date September 5th. This 9-day tour includes 13 meals, and tours of the Museum of Glass, Seattle, Olympic National Park, Quinault Rainforest, and more! Christmas Markets Cruise on the Romantic Rhine:
Departure Date, December 6th. This 9-day tour offers 20 meals, a 7-night cruise, experiences in Switzerland, Germany, France, the Netherlands, and more!
Beginning Conversational Spanish
Mondays, January 15 - February 26th
Westside Cottages (1616 W. Bijou) - $35


This beginning conversational Spanish class is taught by a native Spanish speaker. Offered within a relaxed and enjoyable environment, develop speaking and listening skills needed for direct application into personal and travel settings. Handouts provided.
Gemstone Faceting
Tuesdays, January 9th - February 20th
1-3:30 p.m. - $47
All materials provided in the cost of the class, you do not need your own machine! Students will learn the basics of gemstone faceting including cutting and polishing transparent gemstones. Learn a variety of cuts and shapes. The meet point method will be taught. Up to 2 additional students with their own equipment; pleas inform staff at time of registration if you will be using your own machine.
Watercolor Beginnings
Tuesdays, January 9th - February 6th
Westside Cottages (1616 W. Bijou) - $55

This is a class designed for students who want to quickly learn the art of Watercolor Painting. A heavy emphasis on artistic concepts pertaining to the medium will be covered, such as Transparency, Composition, Basic Color Theory, and most importantly Value. A fundamental, hands-on working knowledge of the medium and equipment will be addressed. Emphasis will be on problem-solving, skill building and helping students develop a personal style. Specific techniques will be addressed to help students make good decisions and work through the process of painting in this medium. Students will be given a variety of reference photos for regular weekly homework.

Come play Bingo with us! Bingo is an enjoyable game of chance and a way to socialize and have fun with friends. There will be no exchange of money or cash prizes, but winners will get some swag!
